| Situated on the tiny Donan Island at the entrance of Loch Duich in the western Highlands of Scotland is the picturesue Eilean Donan Castle, built in 1220 by Scottish king Alexander II against Viking expeditions, extensively renovated later. In 1511, Clan MacRae became the hereditary Castle Constables, and have remained since. |
