The Great Mosque of Xi'an, one of the oldest and best-preserved in China, close to the Drum Tower. It was built in 742AD during the Tang Dynasty, as Islam was introduced into northwest China by Arab merchants and travellers from Persia and Afghanistan along the Silk Road.
