| Pafos' pedestrianised western harbourside, filled with cafes and tavernas. Archaeology shows that Pafos has been inhabited since the Neolithic period. It was a centre of the cult of Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty: Aphrodite's birthplace was reputed to be on the island. |
