| The Electoral Palace was the residence of the Archbishop-Elector of Trier, who commissioned it in the 1780s; the Electorate was later dissolved by Napoleon into the Duchy of Nassau in 1803. Kaiser Wilhelm I later resided here as a military governor. It now houses various offices of the federal government. |
