Built by king Christian V in the 1670s, Nyhavn (New Harbour) links Kongens Nytorv in the west to the main harbour Inderhavnen at its eastern end. It is lined by brightly coloured 17th and 18th century townhouses, bars and cafes, and harbours many historical wooden ships.
