| Seen across the shipyards of Port Vell is Montjuïc, a hill to Barcelona's southwest, and the defensive Castell de Montjuïc (Montjuïc Castle), which also doubled as a prison until 70 years ago. The entire area was reconstructed to hold major events of the 1992 Olympics.
