| The Place du Châtelet north of the Pont au Change marks the middle of the Rive Droite district and is walking distance from most of Paris' attractions in the area. At the square's centre is the Fontaine du Palmier, designed in 1806 to celebrate French victories in battle, marked by a 18m-tall Victory column.
