The Laxey Wheel, easily visible from the Snaefell Mountain Railway, built in 1854 to pump water from the Laxey mine shafts. Now a tourist attraction, it is the largest working waterwheel in the world, 22m in diameter and 70m wide, revolving at a slow 3rpm.
