The sheer cliffs of Sigiriya (Lion's rock), an ancient fortress and palatial ruin, surrounded by the ruins of palace gardens and reservoirs. It's a hardened magma plug, 370m tall, from an extinct, eroded volcano, visible for miles in all directions.
