Standing on Katredos aikštė (Cathedral Square) in the heart of Senamiestis; the site was originally used for the worship of the Lithuanian thunder god Perkūnas before the Vilnius Cathedral was built in 1251 (last rebuilt in 1783). The only surviving tower is the 57m-high belfry just outside its western entrance.
