| Reconstructed in 2000 on Rātslaukums (the central square of Old Riga) is the House of the Blackheads, a guildhouse for unmarried merchants and ship captains in cities within the Hanseatic League. Originally built in 1344 and destroyed in 1941 by the Soviets, it was rebuilt for the city's 800th birthday.
