| At the western end of central Kuching stands the City Mosque, affectionately known as Masjid Lama (Old Mosque) by locals, with its landmark gilded cupolas. The present structure was built in 1968 to replace an original wooden one built in 1852; the river Sarawak flows just behind it. |
