| Castle Square is dominated by the Royal Castle, the previous residence of Polish monarchs. Destroyed by the Nazis during the Warsaw Uprising, it was rebuilt during the reconstruction of the Stare Miasto in the 1970s, and is now a National Museum. The castle was Heritage-listed in 1980.
