| The Warsaw Academy of Sciences is housed in the Pałac Staszica (Staszic Palace), with a statue of the famous Polish astronomer Mikołaja Kopernika (Nicholas Copernicus) standing in front of it, unveiled in 1830. The statue was rescued from a scrapheap and restored here after the Nazis removed it in WWII. |
