| Standing on the north-eastern corner of Rynek Główny is the gothic Saint Mary's Basilica, built in the 14th century with two unequal towers: the shorter with a Renaissance dome functions as a bell tower and holds five bells, while the taller has tradiionally functioned as the city's watchtower.
