The monastery's spiritual focal point is the Troitskiy sobor (Trinity Cathedral), built between 1776-90. In 1724 the remains of St. Alexander Nevsky (canonised by the Orthodox Church as the Holy Patron of Russia) were transferred to the cathedral.
