| The area around Kobarid (a part of Austria-Hungary at the time) was the theatre of the WWI Battles of the Isonzo, fought between Italy and Austria-Hungary, eventually won by Italy. This is a preserved part of Italian trenches (specifically, the 3rd line of Italian defence) in the area. |
