The gothic Acropolium, originally the St. Louis Cathedral (named for saint-king Louis who died in Carthage in 1270 during the Crusades), built by the French between 1884-90 and situated on the top of Byrsa Hill; it is no longer used for worship but instead hosts public events or concerts.
