| The Maria Theresa bastion, the last preserved section of wall of the former citadel of Timişoara, built between 1730-5, and named after Austrian empress Maria Theresa (the city was part of the Holy Roman Empire at the time). Today it houses commercial spaces, restaurants, bars, a disco and a library. |
