The Astoria Column is a tower overlooking the mouth of the Columbia river on Coxcomb Hill in Astoria, in the north-western corner of Oregon. Built in 1926, it marks the last halt of the Lewis and Clarke Expedition in December 1805 before finally discovering the Pacific Ocean, just 15km to the west.
