| The Hochstrahlbrunnen was Vienna's first springwater fountain, built by Austrian emperor Francis Joseph I in 1873, south of Schwartzenburgplatz. The colonnade and flag-bearing figure behind it is a WWII monument to the Soviet Red Army (who liberated Vienna), built in 1945. |
