| In addition to the cannons, the Old Arsenal's archways contains 3 mosaic frescoes, created by Alexandre Cingria in 1949, depicting key periods in Geneva's history, from left to right: Roman settlement (as Comitatus Genevensis) in 58AD, its Middle Ages, and the 16th century.
