| The Binnenalster (Inner Alster) is one of two artificial lakes within the old city of Hamburg, refering to the old city walls that half the lake was "inside" of. Car and rail bridges (seen behind the fountain, centre of picture) seperate it from its other half, the Außenalster (Outer Alster).
