The blackened remnants of the gothic-revival St. Nicholas Church spire (dating originally from 1335) and its ruined outer walls, a result of Allied air raids in WWII. Rebuilt after a fire in 1842, it was the world's tallest building between 1874-6. It is now an anti-war memorial.
