At the western end of the south aisle stands the polished black limestone cenotaph of Ludwig of Bavaria, later Holy Roman Emperor Louis IV, (r. 1314-47); the cenotaph itself dates from 1622, flanked by succeeding dukes of 16th century Bavaria.
