| Looking along the central nave of the Dómkirkjan (Tórshavn cathedral), from the balcony above. The main east-facing altarpiece (centre of picture) portrays the burial of Jesus, painted in 1825 by Danish-German artist Ditlev Blunck. A Faroese model boat is suspended from the vlue vaulted ceiling, an addition to the 1865 rebuild, to evoke the sky. |
