| Just outside the western entrance of the palace lies National Square (but best known to the locals as Pjaca), seen here looking out from the Iron Gate. Immediately notable is the 15th-century Venetian gothic old Town Hall (right of picture), the seat of the city's authority; today it is an exhibition hall.
