| Just west of the city centre, on Republic of Croatia Square (Marshal Tito Square until 2017), is the neo-baroque Croatian National Theatre, opened in 1895 and attended by Austrian-Hungarian emperor Franz Joseph. It is Croatia's biggest theatre, and hosts performances from all genres: ballet, plays and opera. |
