| Just across the road from the Istiqlal mosque stands the neo-gothic Jakarta Cathedral, seat of the Roman Catholic Achbishop of Jakarta, when Indonesia was under Dutch colonial rule. It was built over 10 years - crowned by two 60m-tall spires - and opened for worship in 1901. |
