| The Moulay Idriss II zaouïa (shrine or religious complex) is dedicated to, and the tomb of, emir (or Moulay) Idriss II, who ruled Morocco from 807-28 and founded the city of Fez in 810; the tomb was rediscovered in 1437 and is now an important place of pilgrimmage.
