Looking down on the Namib Desert from the air: below stretches the orange-red, serpentine dunes (or dune sea) of the Namib Desert to the south of the Kuiseb River, some of which are up to 300m high and can span 32km long. Just visible is the northern precipice along the Sossusvlei clay pans.
