| The majestic interior of the Jerónimos Church, 25m tall and supported by delicately carved stone columns. Started by king Manuel I in 1515 to commemorate Vasco da Gama's successful return from India, it houses his tomb and that of his son king João III, and was Heritage-listed in 1983. |
