| Ruins of the Saint Sebastian aqueduct (popularly known as the Arcos do Jardim, "Garden Arches") stretch through the city's old district in the south-east, originally built to service the upper part of Coimbra, now the city's upper university district. It was declared a national monument in 1910. |
