| The medieval-era Bled Castle, overlooking Lake Bled, dates from the 11th century, home to the Bishops of Brixen in the March of Carniola (then part of the Holy Roman Empire, later the Austrian Empire). It is one of Slovenia's oldest castles, and very popular with tourists. |
