| Built by the Romans during the reign of emperor Marcus Aurelius (161-80AD), and maintained by the Byzantines and Seljuk Turks, the remarkable theatre of Aspendos was restored after a visit by Atatürk. The theatre, about 40km east of Antalya, is still used today for performances and sports. |
