| The popular Soccer City stadium - also known as the Calabash (from its resemblance to the African gourd) - on the borders of Soweto. Built in 1987, it hosts South African Premier Soccer League games, and was the site of Nelson Mandela's first speech in Johannesburg after his release from prison in 1990. |
