| The Magdeburger Ehrenmal (cenotaph), by Ernst Barlach in 1929, is dedicated to the victims of WWI. It was removed by the Nazis and re-erected in 1955, but the Soviets' attempt to suppress religion failed when weekly peace prayers started here in 1983. |
