| Standing on the northern edge of the Alter Markt (Old Market Square) is the neo-classical Saint Nicholas Church, built between 1830-7, with a dome 77m high. It was badly damaged by Soviet forces in WWII: after many years of rebuilding, it was re-consecrated in 1981. |
