The entrance to Saint Virgin Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church - better known as the Hanging Church (
al Mu'allaqa
) - inscribed in Coptic and Arabic, on Sharia Mar Girgis. One of Egypt's oldest, a church has existed on this site from the 3rd century.
