| Looking north through the formidable columned canopy of the Pantheon to the Piazza della Rotonda. In the square's centre is a fountain - the Fontana del Pantheon, constructed under pope Gregory XIII in 1575 - surmounted by an Egyptian obelisk, added to it in 1711 under pope Clement XI. |
