| The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore (known locally as Il Duomo, "the Cathedral"), is a neo-gothic cathedral dominating the city centre. The pink, green and white facade was grafted in the 19th century but the massive basilica itself took 150 years to build, finished in 1446. |
