Looking west down historic Vulcan Lane. Named for the Vulcan Forge built here in 1846, it became frequented by prostitutes, peddlers, cockfights and bookmakers. The Magistrates Court, built in 1911, later attracted law firms to the area. Pubs from the 1860s still survive here.
