| Built over the remains of the old Tre Kronor (Three Crowns) palace in 1697 in the north of Stadsholmen in Gamla Stan, Stockholm's more recent Royal Palace (completed by 1754) is one of the world's largest. This is the main western entrance off Högvaktsterrassen, looking across the outer courtyard. |
