| Looking east off Västerlånggatan and adjoining the royal palace stretches the tower of Sankt Nikolai kyrka (Saint Nicholas Church), most commonly known as Storkyrkan (the Great Church), the Royal Cathedral of Sweden. It is the oldest church in Stockholm, consecrated in 1306.
