| The Royal Pantheon, constructed by king Rama IV in 1855, was originally built to accommodate the Emerald Buddha. Today, it contains enshrined statues of past sovereigns of the ruling Chakra dynasty (from king Rama I who started his reign in 1782 to the previous monarch Rama IX, who died in 2016). |
