| The Royal Partheon is flanked by a pair of striking golden pyramids, or chedis, held up by Yaksa Tavarnbal (or demon guardians, seen flanking the bottom). These chedis were built by king Rama I, one devoted to his father (a noble serving the royal court) and the other to his mother. |
