| Kutná Hora's splendid Church of Saint Barbara, with its gothic flying buttresses, is seen as a competitor to the gothic cathedral of Saint Vitus in Prague's castle complex: most of Kutná Hora's wealth came from nearby silver mines, but when the silver dried up, attention shifted more to Prague.
