| Palace Square forms the heart of the town, slowly being rejuvinated and restored as buildings once left to fall apart under the Communist regime are slowly repaired.
As a silver mining town, Kutná Hora's name is apparently derived from monks' cowls (kutten in German) or from the word "mining" (kutání in old Czech). |
