| Street funiculars make trips up steep Lisbon streets far easier. From 1885, the Glória funicular has ferried people from Praça dos Restauradores up to São Pedro de Alcântara viewpoint. One of the city's busiest, it is 265m long with an average gradient of 18%. Unusually, traction is provided by electric motors powered by overhead cables. |
