| Amberd is the name given to the 7th-century fortress on the slopes of Mount Aragats at the confluence of the rivers Arkashen and Amberd in western Armenia; the name translates to "fortress in the clouds" in Armenian. Also nearby stands the 11th-century Vahramashen church. |
